HÜKAM and HÜBAM Conduct Meaningful Digital Awareness Event for Children
The “Little Hands on the Big Screen: Parent Workshop” event, held on December 23, 2025, by the Hitit University Women and Family Issues Application and Research Center (HÜKAM) and the Addiction Combat Application and Research Center (HÜBAM), in accordance with the protocol signed between the Çorum Provincial Directorate of Education and our University, was successfully carried out as part of digital awareness and education efforts for children.
The event was implemented by Şevval Akın and Asiye Nur Kızılay, second-year Child Development students from the Faculty of Health Sciences, working at HÜKAM within the scope of the İŞKUR Youth Program, as part of their fieldwork. HÜKAM Board Member and HÜBAM Deputy Director, Lecturer Dr. Tuğba Gülen, was involved in the program coordination. Şevval Akın and Asiye Nur Kızılay provided information to the parents of 3rd and 4th grade students at Çorum Bahçelievler Primary School about the healthy use of digital platforms by children as part of this event. The students involved contributed to raising awareness about children's digital media use while also gaining professional experience. Bahçelievler Primary School Principal Ender Özcan Özçakır was thanked for his dedicated contributions to the planning and implementation of the event, and it was emphasized that the university-Ministry of National Education collaboration serves as an important social responsibility model that supports the healthy development of children.
The "Little Hands on the Big Screen" event was implemented to directly contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals of Healthy and Quality Life and Quality Education, by protecting children in digital environments, supporting their healthy development, and raising awareness about addiction risks.
